Paddington Bear
from the Michael Bond stories of the adventures of Paddington.
Hand made by Gabrielle Designs 1981
Gabrielle Designs first started making their Paddington Bears in 1972. Eventually, a few years after Shirley Clarkson retired, the business closed down and so it hasn’t been possible to buy new Gabrielle Designs bears since the late 1990's
Paddington Bear comes with his manufacturer's tag, sewn-in (neck) tag and his blue felt hat (with safety pin, as Gabrielle Designs does) and red felt jacket with wooden buttons. He is 13" tall.
His blonde fur is soft and silky. He has a couple pin head size holes on his soles.
Over the years, Paddington's have been dressed in different clothes, but the one common item on all the Paddingtons is the label, usually attached to a toggle on the duffle coat, bearing the immortal words: “Please Look After This Bear. Thank You”

He is in mint condition and has all his tags. Tush tag read has the RARE BEAR logo and says RARE BEAR. On the back it states he is made of genuine mink. He is 7" tall, is made of dark brown/black mink with lighter brown mink lining his ears and on his muzzle and pawpads. His eyes are realistic, with detailing, too. Brown "iris" surrounding black pupil.
